International Students Summit in Mie

Ise-shi (三重県伊勢市, Mie prefecture), Minami-ise-cho (南伊勢町, Mie prefecture)

・Expected Participants
100 people (Japanese university students + International students)

・Fee
10,000 JPY [for International students, including the expenses of transportation (bus from Nagoya to Ise), lodging and food. The details will be available later.]

・Brief introduction to the event
In this event, international students and Japanese university students (mainly from Tokyo and Tokai region) will discuss the theme related to the G7 Summit and Mie. Also, we will participate in various activities, such as sauntering about Ise shrine and the surrounding area, experiencing unique culture of the region, interacting with residents under the starry heavens, and more. Throughout the event, we expect both international and domestic students to have better understanding of social and regional issues, which will be conducive to both sides of the students in terms of developing new ideas and aims for their foreseeable future.

A.M. Meet at Nagoya
1 P.M. Opening ceremony, Seeing the outer shrine of Ise and an exhibition on the history of Ise, Dinner/Interaction, Staying at Ise

Sep.1 (Thu)
A.M. Visiting the inner shrine of Ise (voluntary), and several places in the city (in progress)
P.M. Discussion I relating to the G7 summit, Moving to Minami Ise-cho, Dinner/Interaction, Staying at Minami Ise-cho

Sep.2 (Fri)
A.M. Visiting places Minami Ise-cho (hands-on learning about the primary industry)
P.M. Discussion II relating to Japan and Ise, recreation, Dinner/Interaction, Staying at Minami Ise-cho

Sep.3 (Sat)
8:15 A.M. Moving to Ise city passing Shima, Discussion III (reflection), Closing ceremony
1P.M. Visiting other places in Mie prefecture
6P.M. Arrinving at Nagoya

Additionally, international students who are interested in joining this trip should have certain level of Japanese proficiency (by it means who does not have so much of a problem with having conversation in Japanese with natives. We will make both Japanese and English group in discussion) and also be considering or willing to participate in further activities of KIP.

・How to apply
Send email to committee@kipprograms.org. Write down “Apply for International Students Summit in Mie” in the subject, and your name, university, grade, department in the body.

*Note
1. Holding a membership of KIP will be required to participate in the Students Summit. However, the entrance fee is included in the participation fee.
2. We are planning to have a prior meeting on July. 16th (Sat) and Aug. 20 (Sat) both in Tokyo, but the details will be informed to the participants later on.
3. Interviews will be held on Jun. 26 (Sun) in Tokyo. Details will be given later on.
4. We will not refund your participation fee after it is payed. 5. If the applicant is a minor, he/she must have an approval from his/her guardian upon application.
